Adolf Loos OR Gustav Klimt

Assalamualaikum.... the simple understanding about the two philosophies.

Gustav Klimt-Secessionist - One off production

Adolf loos-Loos - Mass production

So, as an industrial designer I will prefer the loos is much better and suitable. Why I said that because, in Industrial design, we must design the object have aesthetics value but at the same time we must know about the production. However, the aesthetic value still must be have on the design, the element and principle also the main factor make a good design.

But if you only think about the aesthetics value, soul, impression of heart without thinking about mass production........How the destiny of product??
May be it still can be produce for one off production but are you sure? For the Industrial design, we must fulfil the need and demand from customers. So it is very important for me as an Industrial designer to design the product follow the market demand.

Secessionist Ornamental Palace

So, based on the two design of architecture we can see the Loos and secessionist design. The secessionist we know that the subjective design has more the aesthetics value. So I tell you before, secessionist basically is one of production. They could not use a machine to make a building that why we see the building is full aesthetics value but how about the mass production??
Can they build the exactly same building at another place???
Is it practically for Industrial design following the secessionist???
For me, Loos is very practically for Industrial Design field.

: : : Joy of Work : : :

Work is a responsibility that must be implemented by individual. We can see in terms of working in modern thinking now, most people do not enjoy their work. When you not enjoy your work, the productivity is low and you can’t give the 100% quality in your work.
Are you enjoy with your work now?

For me you can enjoy the work if you like it. And also the work is a part of your profession, every time you can improve your skill to make it better. Nowadays, the trend for graduate student is want a job. They are not concerned with a job, as long as they get the job even if not in our field. So this is trend we can see now.
Are you sure you always give 100% at work?
In my opinion, even though the work is worship, ‘joy in work’ is very important. It can be covering all aspects when we enjoy the work, for example interaction with another staff, performance and commitment.

Happy with your group at office?

If you enjoy with your work, you also build more confidence in yourself. So you can focus and give the quality output and happy with your work.
So based on Art Nouveau,we can see the combination of fundamental based on environment. The natural output and originality or work and how the human has relation with environment.
We can see that in the artwork has been done by Art Nouveau Era. All the artwork has been include the architecture, sculpture, painting, decorative arts, literature and also the music.

So from here we know that, all their artwork is more expression and soul from the artist. They create something with nature and make the originality based on nature. So that artist can come out the creative imagination to make the artworks. They free to make an artwork based on their experience. So they enjoy with their works. And the output is great....

So, we see the artist how they enjoy their work during make a painting. New Art refer for the Art Nouveau in French term. This is the movement of colourful in art from the 19th century. In Italy, Art Nouveau had other name, such as ‘Stile Liberty’ and in Germany they called “Jugendstil or “Youth Style”.
For the paintings of Art Nouveau is Edward Munch’s “The Scream” and will be create in 1893 and show at La Maison de I’Art Nouveaux gallery.

                                                                       "The Scream"

"I was walking along a path with two friends — the sun was setting — suddenly the sky turned blood red — I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence — there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city — my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety — and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature."Edvard Munch

Art Nouveau in Europe
Catalan Modernisme, the European context of Catalan Art Nouveau. In England John Ruski who are the first reference of Art Nouveau (1819-1900).The influence by gothic art, sculpture,he publish an enormous quantity on literature, painting, architecture, aesthetics and a lot of social team.John Ruski idea influencing the art craft movement, highlight the return nature, beautiful, undulation, graceful shapes, with fascinating charm.
To be continue....:)

Cogito Ergo Sum

  Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum

Meditations on First Philosophy

 (1641)

René Descartes (15961650)

"Cogito, ergo sum" (Latin: "I think, therefore I am") or Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum (Latin: "I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am") is a philosophical statement used by René Descartes, which became a foundational element of Western philosophy. Descartes' original statement was in fact "Cogito ergo sum", as Descartes wrote in Latin, then the language of science in Europe. It is, however, often translated into his native French as "Je pense donc je suis.". The phrase occurs in his Discourse on Method (1637). (See Principles of Philosophy, Part 1, article 7: "Ac proinde hæc cognitio, ego cogito, ergo

or
Dubito, ergo cogito, ergo sum

Discourse on Method (1637)

Meaning
Usually translated from the Latin as 'I think, therefore I am'.

Origin
Possibly the best known of all philososophical quotations; this is from the French philosopher René Descartes in Discourse on Method, 1637, where he attempted to prove his existence as a thinking being, by thinking. 'I think, therefore I am' comes to us in English via two translations. Descartes' original statement in French was "Je pense, donc je suis". This is such a well-known line that it has spawned humourous alternatives, not least:

"I'm pink, therefore I'm spam"
"René Descartes was a drunken fart - I drink therefore I am".

Descartes (1596-1650)

The first great modern philosopher, depending on who you ask…

“…there was no such learning in the world as I had been
 led to hope.”Doubt everything

Physicist of great repute, created analytic geometry,a faithful
Catholic who wanted the church to pay attention in a time of
 scrutiny.
